Asphaltia is the Goddess of Asphalt and the Open Road. Her spirit embodies virtually every American road, and many of it's "blacktop" playgrounds. Much like sailors rely on the goddess of the sea, we rely on her for safe passage. Be kind to the goddess, and don't drip oil or throw trash on her. Otherwise, you may bring her wraith down on all of us.
You can tell she is angry at someone with traffic grinds to a halt for no reason. She apparently has the power to create phantom cars that will come to a complete stop in the fast lane, thus backing up traffic for miles. Unfortunately, it affects not only the focus of her wraith, but also everyone around him.
When praying to Asphaltia, keep in mind her sphere of influence is the road itself. She may be willing to grant you swift and safe passage along our freeways, but she has limited control over the evil signal light spirits. On the other hand, asking her to hold onto your car and not let it go sliding off the road is a good idea, especially if your tires are going bald.
Asphaltia is a hard working goddess, supporting us on her back day in and day out. So don't forget to thank her once in a while, and let her know that you appreciate her efforts.
